Water Baby!

There is always an adjustment when Dakota, Tate, Morgan and Zane arrive at our house.  For example, I have to adjust the amount of toilet paper in each bathroom, because it disappears at a rate you absolutely can't believe, and no one ever tells you it's all gone.  Groceries must be bought and the TV will be surrendered to the x-box...you get the idea.

All of this is great, we've got it down to a science, but I was not prepared for Sloan's "adjustment".  The last time they were here, he was more animated, and definitely interested in what his brother's and sisters were up to.  He watched them closely, smiled shyly, and engaged them on occasion.  This time was a totally different story.  His eyes were glued to Morgan from the time she woke up in the morning, until he went to bed.  He watched Tate and Zane out of the corner of his eye the whole time, and smiled constantly at them.  And somehow he knew it's a tougher road with a 15 year old, so he would wait until he was sure he had Dakota's attention, and then for no reason let out a huge "Ha-ha" to and be rewarded with a smile from Dakota.

The kids are all big fans of the swimming pool in Airdrie, and almost every time they come to visit they all go swimming. I am not a big fan of swimming, in fact, I am not even a little fan.  Unless there is a dolphin to swim with, or an ocean I am basically out. This time Reg thought it would be fun for Sloan to go, and I thought...well a million things an overprotective Mother would think, but decided he should go anyway.
And wouldn't you just know it - he absolutely  loved every second.  Which is great, something for him and his Dad to do together, cause his Mom didn't see a single Dolphin at the pool.

I believe Sloan is saying "Woohoo finally a bathtub bigger than the kitchen sink!"
He thought he was pretty smart holding this pole without any help from his Dad...although his Mom preferred when his Dad was hanging on.
And here Sloan chose to look at Morgan over the camera!!!
Moving on over to the big pool, which is quite chilly, and yet brought even bigger smiles.  And as soon as they hit the water, Sloan's legs just starting kicking. He was ready to swim!

And swim he did!!

And then a few moments to chillax...feet up and crossed!
And back to the hard work of play!!

After an hour, I thought it was probably time to get him out and head home for a nap, he wasn't overly thrilled at the idea of getting out, but was a good sport.  And then he came home for a 2 hour nap!  Which in our world is unheard of... this might even be enough to convince me to go!

Love,

Julie
